So often, I am up before the sun comes up because I can’t sleep, for a variety of reasons. Well, that seems to be the perfect time to prep for dinner. Hence, before dawn spaghetti sauce. I can relax knowing that today, when I come home and am exhausted, all I have to do is make the noodles and dinner is on the table in under 20 minutes. That’s what I call a WIN! This recipe is so easy to pull together as long as you have a few key ingredients on hand.
Feeds 6 with Leftovers
3 lbs ground beef
1 large sweet onion
2 jars spaghetti sauce
2 cans drained diced tomatoes
Salt, pepper, garlic powder, fresh or dried herbs to taste
First, dice the onion and add it to a little grape seed oil in a deep pot. I like to get a little color on my onions, so cook it on med/hi temperature. Next, add the ground beef until fully cooked. Then add the spaghetti sauce and drained tomatoes. Season with a little salt, pepper, garlic powder, and dried or fresh herbs. If you like a little heat you can always add a dash of cayenne. Let simmer for a few minutes, then turn off until dinner time. Easy peasy……you can do it!
